MARION – A man was taken into custody after he was found with meth at a recent traffic stop on Cherry Street in Marion.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says around 3:20 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, deputies saw William A. Reed commit a traffic violation going west on Cherry Street. After Reed was stopped, deputies discovered Reed’s driving privileges were suspended and that he had an outstanding Franklin County warrant for his arrest.
Reed refused several requests to get out of his vehicle. Deputies assisted him out of the driver’s seat.
While speaking with Reed, deputies saw an open lid container in the driver’s seat which contained a white crystal-like substance that appeared to be meth. The substance later field tested positive for meth.
Reed was cited for Possession of Methamphetamine, Driving While License Suspended and Failure to Signal when Required. He was taken to and lodged in the Williamson County Jail.
